Snow King Mountain Proves To Be Tall Order For Jimmy John’s Riders And Crew
(December 12, 2017) – The high altitude and steep slopes of Jackson Hole’s Snow King Mountain made for a challenging weekend for the Jimmy John’s/XPS/Ski-Doo team as riders and crew members struggled to adapt to the new venue.

Aki Pihlaja Opens The Season On The Podium In Duluth
Aki Pihaja overcame adversity at the start of Saturday night’s main event to rebound for a third place podium finish to begin the season. Pihlaja jumped out to an early lead but was hit in the rear bumper as the field of 15 riders piled into the downhill first turn. “It was a good start, I think I had the holeshot,” said Pihlaja.

Aki Pihlaja wrapped up the ISOC Pro Lite Championship by virtue of his third place finish on Saturday, at the Nielsen Enterprises Grand Finale. Aki Pihlaja Leads Jimmy John’s Snocross Team To Three Podiums In Iowa.
Aki Pihlaja raced to two Pro Lite podium finishes, including a win on Saturday night, as the national snocross tour made it’s first-ever visit to the state of Iowa at the Sundown Mountain Resort in Dubuque.
Pihlaja has been in control of the Pro Lite championship since the second weekend of competition in December.

Aki Pihlaja battled his way to two Pro Lite podium finishes in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, maintaining a comfortable lead in the class championship. Warm temps leading up to the event and heavy rain on Friday created a unique and challenging racing environment for teams and riders. Aki Pihlaja raced his way to a pair of third place finishes at rounds 9 and 10 of the national snocross tour inSalamanca, New York. As a result, he continued to expand on his lead in the class, which now stands at 51 points, While each stop on the tour presents a new challenge to the Finnish racer who is competing at the venues for the first time, he has done a remarkable job of qualifying well almost every night and finishing on or near the podium to hold the point lead in the class since the opening weekend of the season.

Fast Starts Propel Adam Renheim To Silver Medal At Winter X Games
A short course with limited passing opportunities placed a premium on starts at the 2017 Winter X Games and Adam Renheim and his Jimmy John’s Ski-Doo answered the bell with clutch performances in both qualifying and the main event. “I was a little beat up after blowing a belt and crashing hard in Deadwood,” said Renheim.  We decided not to race there on Saturday and I think it helped coming into X Games feeling fresh.

With virtually no snow in the upper midwest, event organizers had their hands full trying to produce enough man made snow to maintain conditions: even incorporating a flat high-speed corner, a layout not often seen in snocross.
