Winnipeg, MB. – March 7, 2016 – Marica Renheim made a triumphant return to the top of the podium in the Pro AM Women’s final on Friday night at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois. The win, combined with qualifying finishes of 1-1, propelled Marica into the lead in the class championship for the first time this season after missing the opening 16route66_4round with an injury.

Although she is the two-time defending champion, the climb back from adversity has been challenging this season with a number of new competitors eager to take her place. Marica’s has always been known for her natural talent on a snowmobile but determination has been her calling card this year as she looks for a three-peat.

16route66_11Adam Renheim continues to have his best season ever racing in the Pro Open class. Renheim struggled a bit in Friday’s final but came back with a patented charge to the front on Saturday which resulted in a fourth place finish.

“On Friday I was happy with our speed but I just felt out of rhythm like wrong place, wrong time,” said Renheim. Saturday’s charge from an eighth place start to fourth was critical in maintaining a gap over his nearest rival in the points while also keeping pace with the rider who sits just in front of him.

The team is back in our Minnesota race shop for the week as we prepare for the series finale at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin on March 18-20. Sunday’s Pro Open event will feature live television coverage on the CBS Sports Network.
